SocietyRejuvenating Orchard Road: New orchid park and playgarden planned for expanded Istana Park

Singapore’s Orchard Road is set to gain a larger green and family-oriented destination. Istana Park is being expanded, with possible additions including an orchid park and a nature playgarden. Plans also envision public spaces for street markets and performances. To create more room, part of the iconic shopping road in front of the Istana would be pedestrianised. The project is presented as a way to reshape Orchard Road’s public lifestyle space.
