WorldIran-US talks in limbo as Pakistan and Oman mediate

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has travelled to Tehran, underscoring Islamabad’s role in relaying messages between Iran and the United States. Iranian officials say contacts conducted through Oman are continuing, but profound mistrust remains. Sanctions, frozen assets, Iran’s nuclear dossier and a US naval blockade continue to obstruct progress. Tehran maintains that no direct negotiations are taking place, leaving the prospect of a breakthrough highly uncertain. The mediation effort therefore remains active, but the central disputes have not been resolved.
