PoliticsTurkish Parliament passes legal framework for ‘Terror-Free Türkiye’

Türkiye’s parliament has approved the “Terror-Free Türkiye” bill. It establishes that ongoing investigations and prosecutions, along with enforcement of existing sentences, will be suspended if the PKK is verified to have ended its existence and surrendered all weapons. The National Security Council will supervise verification of the group’s disarmament and dissolution. The measure therefore links legal relief to confirmed PKK disarmament and dissolution.
