> Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed said Sunday that he had a “really warm” conversation with former President Barack Obama. The discussion came as Democrats seek a way forward after last week’s bruising primary. El-Sayed, a progressive, narrowly defeated moderate Rep. Haley Stevens, the establishment’s preferred candidate. He said he and Obama discussed bringing Democrats together to retain Michigan’s critical Senate seat in November.
