WorldIndonesia closes Mount Bromo National Park as wildfire spreads

Indonesia has shut Mount Bromo National Park in East Java to all tourists as a wildfire continues to expand across the popular site. The fire began on Monday and has now scorched more than 170 hectares, nearly three times the area affected by Thursday. Park officials said the closure will continue indefinitely while firefighting crews concentrate on the rapidly worsening blaze in the Bromo caldera. Water-bombing helicopters and drones have been deployed to help contain the flames.
