> Iran says negotiations with Oman on reopening the Strait of Hormuz are close to completion. Iran has also made new demands, calling for the United States to end its naval blockade of the strait and Iranian ports and to pull its military forces out of the area. Scott Lucas, a professor of international politics at University College Dublin’s Clinton Institute, offers further analysis.
