ScienceConservationists tag 600 flamingo chicks at Spanish lagoon

Conservationists have fitted identity rings to 600 flamingo chicks at the Fuente de Piedra lagoon natural reserve in southern Spain. Hundreds of volunteers helped guide the young birds during the tagging effort. The reserve is described as one of Europe’s greatest flamingo colonies. The rings will provide the chicks with individual identification records.
