> The Republican-led Senate approved Todd Blanche as attorney general by a 50-49 vote held overnight. The close tally confirmed Blanche as the second attorney general approved since Donald Trump returned to the White House last year. Trump has said he wants to use the law enforcement agency to investigate his political opponents. Blanche’s confirmation gives the administration its latest confirmed leader for that agency.
