WorldTurkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan defence pact signals closer cooperation

Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have pledged to deepen military cooperation through a joint defence agreement. The arrangement is modelled on NATO’s Article 5, treating an attack on one member as an attack on all. It comes as countries in the region increasingly turn to one another for security after Israel’s war on Gaza, strikes on several regional countries and renewed conflict with Iran. The agreement points to closer strategic coordination among the three states.
