WorldViolence kills three inmates in Sri Lankan prisons, injures dozens

Fighting at several prisons across Sri Lanka has left at least three inmates dead and more than 20 injured. At Kuruwita Prison and Pallansena Open Prison, inmates climbed onto roofs to protest overcrowding and delays in their cases. Officials suspect narcotics gangs may have been involved and are examining whether the unrest was coordinated. The violence follows an incident at Negombo prison just weeks ago that killed 32 people, with 61 prisoners now facing charges.
