TechAlibaba may begin charging for use of its latest AI model

Alibaba plans to seek a share of the revenue generated by major users of the next version of its Qwen open-source artificial intelligence model, according to two people familiar with the company’s plans. The move could introduce a commercial payment model for access to the highly anticipated offering. It would apply to users who turn the model into revenue-generating products or services.
