SportsFIFA institutional tensions deepen after Infantino’s Forward Entity proposal fails

Host Alison Sargent welcomes international sports journalist Thando Sibiya to discuss FIFA’s governance crisis. Sibiya presents the dispute as the result of deeper institutional tensions that have built up during Gianni Infantino’s presidency. In her view, the proposed sale of a permanent stake in FIFA’s commercial rights acted as a catalyst rather than the underlying cause. The failed proposal exposed longstanding disagreements over governance within the organisation.
