Iran and Oman are close to an agreement for managing vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran says the draft has reached its final stage, with a joint statement planned unless “certain parties” obstruct the process. Reports say the arrangement depends on the United States ending its naval blockade of Iranian ports. It would reportedly allow vessels to enter through Iranian waters and leave via Omani territory. Iran has nevertheless cautioned that any deal would not make the strait safe for every passing ship.
