HealthCyclospora outbreak spreads to 47 US states

An outbreak caused by the microscopic parasite Cyclospora has reached 47 US states. More than 10,000 cases have been reported, with over 500 people hospitalized and two deaths recorded. Several sources of fresh produce are suspected of helping spread the parasite. The infection causes explosive diarrhea.
