CultureColombian farming family keeps heritage alive through flowers

A farming family in Santa Elena, Colombia, is making floral “silleta” displays for Medellín’s Silleteros Parade. Artisan Diana Gomez says the family has participated for more than 30 years. Their displays highlight farming traditions, diverse flower varieties and craftsmanship rooted in the local community. The preparations connect the parade with a family tradition passed down through generations.
