WorldQalandia camp raid raises fears of mass displacement and demolitions

Israeli forces raided the Qalandia refugee camp, a strategic route linking Ramallah with occupied East Jerusalem. Residents described troops entering homes, damaging property and establishing makeshift interrogation sites inside houses. Paramedics treated several injured people, including some reportedly beaten severely by occupation soldiers. Palestinian officials accused the right-wing government of turning the operation into election propaganda. They warned that the raid could precede destruction of the camp on the scale seen in Jenin and trigger mass displacement.
