> Myanmar’s former military chief Min Aung Hlaing is preparing for another foreign trip, this time to Thailand in his role as the country’s civilian leader. Thailand has played a central part in ASEAN’s efforts to re-engage with Myanmar. ASEAN members have reiterated that the Five-Point Consensus remains the bloc’s main framework for addressing the crisis. Myanmar’s military-appointed parliament, however, has voted to reject that consensus.
