India says it has no government role in former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s planned virtual address. The event is being organised by a private media organisation, according to Indian officials. Hasina is scheduled to speak by video on Wednesday, Aug 5, at a Foreign Correspondents’ Club of South Asia event in New Delhi. She has lived in self-imposed exile in India since student-led protests toppled her government in August 2024.
