WorldUS optimistic of a Strait of Hormuz deal between Iran and Oman

The United States is hopeful that the Strait of Hormuz could be fully reopened within days. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said they believed an agreement could be reached today or tomorrow. Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman described talks with Oman over a new system for vessels using the strait as positive. President Trump has so far rejected any arrangement that would leave Iran in control of the waterway.
