> Jin Mingri, founder of China’s prominent underground Zion Church, was arrested in a large-scale crackdown on Christians last October. After 266 days in detention, prosecutors announced his non-prosecution at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport on July 3, and he flew to the United States accompanied by a US consular official. The release has been regarded as a result directly prompted by Donald Trump’s visit to China, although neither side has responded publicly. Jin described resistance in detention, sudden freedom and reunion with his family.
