> Joshua Wong, once a leading figure in Hong Kong’s democracy movement, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for colluding with foreign forces under the city’s national security law. Introduced in 2020 after large pro-democracy protests, the law has been criticized for silencing dissent; authorities say it is needed for stability.
