PoliticsDemocrats projected to take control of both chambers in historic midterm win

Projections show Democrats won enough seats in Tuesday’s US midterms to control the Senate and House. In 2027, they are expected to hold at least 54 Senate seats and 230 House seats, flipping Senate contests in Texas, Maine, Ohio and North Carolina. Donald Trump congratulated Democrats but reminded them he can veto legislation. Republicans won Florida’s special Senate election, an open Wyoming Senate seat and elected Florida’s first Black governor.
