> Police fired tear gas and stun grenades on Wednesday to disperse garment workers demanding higher wages, police and witnesses said. The workers seek a minimum monthly wage of 30,000 takas ($245), up from 12,500. The protests have disrupted an industry that earns Bangladesh about $40 billion a year in exports. The government has formed a new wage board.
