PoliticsDemocrat Jon Ossoff projected to win key Georgia Senate seat

At 23:41 ET, Senator Jon Ossoff was projected to defeat Republican challenger Mike Collins. Ossoff's strong polling lead made the result unsurprising, though Republicans had hoped for a closer contest. Georgia has voted reliably Republican for decades; Donald Trump won it in 2024, while Joe Biden narrowly carried it in 2020.
