> France’s interior minister warned on Thursday that the risk of public disorder during a new wave of protests this weekend was “very high” and announced the deployment of around 70,000 police officers. Anger over the rising cost of living and inequality has fueled nationwide demonstrations; protests on October 17 devolved into some of the country’s worst rioting in years.
