Authorities will preserve more of Maju Forest and Gillman Barracks after public feedback on housing plans. The revised plan keeps 45% and 60% of the respective sites, cuts planned homes by about 1,200 to 11,000, and adds nature parks and green corridors. Nature groups welcomed the changes but remain concerned about construction’s effects on wildlife.
