SocietySingapore to introduce laws for probing companies linked to haze

Singapore plans to table legislation to strengthen investigations into companies suspected of contributing to transboundary haze. Independent assessors would receive full access to firms’ operations, supply chains and corporate relationships. Ministers have met executives from 10 potentially linked firms and warned that failure to cooperate could bring legal consequences. The government says it wants to establish the facts and hold those responsible to account.
