PoliticsNetanyahu falls short of victory as Israel vote count continues

Israel’s official count is underway, with more than 70% of votes tallied. Current projections give Benjamin Netanyahu’s bloc 54 seats, down from the outgoing coalition’s 68. Neither Netanyahu nor rival Gadi Eisenkot is on track for the 61 seats needed for a majority, raising the prospect of a political deadlock. Final results will take several days.
