Canada’s federal government is scheduled to announce amendments to its medical assistance in dying law in Ottawa at 1 p.m. ET Tuesday. Justice Minister Sean Fraser and Health Minister Marjorie Michel will present the proposal, which would bar people with only a mental illness from accessing MAID and allow advance directives.
