Israel is set to vote on Tuesday (Oct. 27) in its first election since the Hamas attacks of Oct. 7, 2023, putting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s political future at stake. Carnegie Endowment for International Peace senior fellow Aaron David Miller says the vote is both a referendum on Netanyahu and a contest over Israel’s future direction. An opposition win by Gadi Eisenkot could prompt domestic changes, including an inquiry.
