> Clashes broke out in several French cities on Saturday as hundreds of thousands demonstrated nationwide over school funding and soaring living costs. Nearly 1,000 people were arrested after masked protesters confronted police. The interior ministry counted 410,000 demonstrators, while the CGT union put the figure near 800,000. The unrest is testing Emmanuel Macron’s authority in the final months of his presidency.
