EconomyRising handset prices push more consumers to repair or buy used phones

Higher prices for new phones are leading more people in Singapore to repair their devices or buy used handsets. A study found new-phone sales fell 14% from 2023 to 2025, while one retailer’s repair jobs rose 46%. Resale and e-waste recycling are also gaining, with up to 90% of phone parts and materials recoverable.
