> Residents of a rural Australian town were horrified and disbelieving on Tuesday after respected lawmaker Helen Haines was seriously injured in what appeared to be a targeted attack. The former nurse and midwife entered parliament in 2019. The 65-year-old was hit by a two-tonne SUV in Wangaratta on Monday afternoon.
