Officials said US citizen Ricardo Gonzalez was detained and injured by ICE officers during an arrest in Long Beach, California, on 17 October. The Department of Homeland Security has not publicly explained why he was detained. Long Beach police said officers arrived amid a large disturbance involving federal agents, then removed Gonzalez’s handcuffs and took him to hospital.
