WorldUN cuts aid to 500,000 Gazans over funding shortfall and other stories

The World Food Programme says a funding gap will force it to sharply reduce life-saving food assistance in Gaza. The number of Palestinians it helps will fall by about a third, from 1.6 million to 1.1 million, and it says it urgently needs $450m over six months for operations in Gaza and the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
