WorldAnti-government protesters and riot police clash in Albania

Protesters threw rocks and set off flares and fireworks at riot police, who responded with tear gas, water cannons and baton charges. Protesters attacked government buildings, smashed storefronts and set fires. Violence escalated after students joined the broader movement calling for socialist Prime Minister Edi Rama to resign.
