French President Emmanuel Macron condemned those he called “dissenters” for looting and vandalising cities across France alongside protests over the cost of living. He said he had asked the government to convene students, teachers, lawmakers, union representatives and business leaders this week to develop what he called concrete proposals to address the crisis.
