WorldRennes residents assess damage after protests turn violent

Residents and business owners in Rennes are assessing damage after Saturday’s protests descended into violence, looting and destruction. Demonstrations began peacefully, with students and Yellow Vest movement members gathering before clashes with police. Shops were vandalised, storefronts smashed and buildings set alight. A marathon went ahead despite the unrest.
