WorldAnalysis: Egypt’s support for Saudi Arabia sends a deterrence message to the Houthis

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi is seeking parliamentary approval to authorize support for Saudi Arabia against the Houthis, also known as Ansar Allah. The move follows weeks of attacks on Saudi infrastructure, including strikes on Riyadh’s King Khalid Airport that killed at least 17 people. Saudi authorities blamed the Houthis. Sisi said harm to Saudi Arabia was “absolutely inconceivable” and urged Gulf parties to stop the war.
