> At least four people died and two suffered severe burns while fighting fires on Java island in Indonesia. They were part of a national park firefighting team. Hotspots nationwide more than doubled on Oct. 15 compared with the previous day, with the sharpest rise in Central Kalimantan. Protests have broken out in parts of the country over what demonstrators describe as a poor government response.
