PoliticsIndia's Supreme Court orders Election Commission to answer opposition plea on voter rolls

India's Supreme Court directed the Election Commission to respond to an opposition plea alleging irregularities in voter-roll revisions. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other opposition chiefs filed the petition after about 130 million names were removed since revisions began last year. The commission disputed the figure and denied that the changes unfairly benefited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ruling BJP in recent state elections.
