# Europe injects 50 bcm of gas into storage for winter as stockpiling slows

Storage was 73.94% full on October 12, the lowest level for that date since records began in 2011. EU rules set a 90% filling target, though the European Commission may lower it to 80% this year amid expectations of a very mild winter.
