> The 70-year-old historian was transferred from a prison hospital back to Penal Colony No. 18 in Mordovia after being admitted with a suspected stroke. Supporters say the hospital lacked diagnostic equipment and that he was ordered to rest in bed until October 28, but prison staff had not initially allowed him to lie down. They also cited repeated punishment-cell placements and poor conditions.
