> Central Kyiv came under missile attack on Oct. 12, with explosions reported before an air raid alert sounded. Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia appeared to have fired ballistic missiles; President Volodymyr Zelensky said they hit civilian infrastructure and that partners had provided no advance warning. Separately, France’s navy intercepted and boarded the DF Peak, suspected of belonging to Russia’s shadow fleet, in the Indian Ocean.
