> The Sijil Centre, which monitors Israeli activity in Syria, says the Israeli army has arrested more than 200 people in southern Syria since Bashar al-Assad’s regime fell in December 2024. The military says it is targeting “suspected terrorists”; witnesses call the arrests arbitrary, while former detainees and their loved ones voice serious concerns about detention conditions.
