# Bumble shares soar on report of $1bn takeover talks

> Bumble shares rose almost 50% on Monday after a report said the dating app company was in advanced talks to be acquired for around $1bn by technology holding company Ithaca. A deal could be announced as early as this week. The surge lifted Bumble’s market value above $580m, still far below its peak of more than $14bn after its 2021 Nasdaq listing.
