> Thousands of security personnel were sent to Delhi on Saturday ahead of a Cockroach Janta Party protest calling for electoral reforms. Protesters were heard striking bus windows after being detained. The party posted footage of founder Abhijeet Dipke being detained with other leaders after arriving in the capital. The movement began in May after India’s chief justice compared some unemployed young people to “cockroaches”. Police denied permission for the demonstration and barricaded roads, but the party said it would proceed.
