> Protests calling for an end to sexual violence took place across more than 40 US states on 8 October. They followed a lawsuit by a woman identified as Jane Doe, who alleges that members of Cornell University’s Chi Phi fraternity assaulted her while she was incapacitated and says the university failed to investigate and discipline those involved. Prosecutors reopened the case after the lawsuit was filed.
