# EU gas shortage caused by bloc’s own actions, envoy says

He was commenting on a report that the EU could face its largest winter shortage in 15 years, at about 14 billion cubic meters, or 7% of demand. Reserves are at their lowest since records began in 2011, while gas prices have reached a four-year high.
