> Anti-immigration protests turned violent in Soweto and Durban. Police said at least 24 vehicles were torched and foreign-owned shops looted, while officers fired rubber bullets to disperse crowds. The unrest follows a court ruling requiring the government to remove barriers that had kept some migrants from applying for asylum.
